What’s new

What changed on the site, one entry per update, the most recent first.

A page per family name, and the variants of a blazon

  • · Every family name has its page: its arms across all our sources, side by side, with the works that attest them. A name search leads there.
  • · When a source gives several versions of a blazon (“— Ou:”, “Alias”), each is drawn, and identification recognises them all.
  • · Renesse’s dictionary citations appear on the coat page, with a link to the scanned page.

Six more armorials, and the site in English

  • · Over 420,000 coats of arms. New: Grandmaison, Beauchet-Filleau (Poitou), Révérend (Restoration), Galbreath (Vaud), Kneschke, Bolton (United States).
  • · In English, English heraldic terms work in every search, and each coat page gives an English blazon.
  • · Search combines several charges or tinctures, ignores accents in names and offers suggestions.
